Multi-speed Multi-stage Gearbox Design
The project summarizes design work of a multispeed gearbox
Designed a 9-speed gearbox for the turret head of a lathe machine operating in the spindle speed range of 1000 rpm to 30 rpm and operated by a motor at 720 rpm. The project involved designing all individual elements and parameters of the gearbox.
The main subparts of the gearbox assembly involved:
Optimal Gear Pair Selection and Design-Using Buckingham Dynamic Load Principle
Shaft Design - Optimum Shear Force and Torsional Moment Parameters
Bearing Design and Selection
Assembly Layout (Optimal Gearbox Design - Multispeed Gearboxes using Speed Diagrams)
Gearbox Casing - PSG Data Book Standards
Synchronizer Rings and Forks
All the component parameters were calculated, and the components were generated and assembled using Solid Modelling.
